The camera was constructed in 1985. It combines 9 apertures on a paper negative 7 inches by 54 inches.The focal plane of the camera where the negative is placed curves parallel to the front.

The length of the paper negative produced by the panorama camera was a challenge in terns of presentation. In 1990, after 2 trips to Japan, I realized the shape of the panorama negative could be viewed as a “makimono” the traditional horizontal scroll common in Japanese art.
