Mitama Installation:
A series of 5 panels combine to an approximate width of 12 feet wide 46 inches high by 6 inches deep. Each panel is a digital, electrostatic print combining three images in a vertical format. The lensless photographs were taken in Kitamura, north of Kyoto, Japan in 1996. At this location there is a small, country graveyard where many objects of comfort are left for those departed. Some of the objects are candles, incense, cups of sake, tea, bowls of rice and cigarettes.
