Exploring basic concepts of the photographic process led me to comment on principles of photograpy and traditionally accepted modes of photographic production.
In this series the sculptural aspects of the camera were paramount. Physical characteristics of the camera relate to conceptual concerns. Each camera produced one negative and if the negative was printed to a positive, it produced a single image. Of course this is contrary to the photographic process. The photograph was simply a record of how the camera functioned and served to complete the piece thus rendering the camera obselete.
